Lighting Service, Inc., of St. Louis Wins BBB Torch Award
St. Louis, MO. September 30, 2009 – Lightig Service, Inc., of St. Louis is among two charities and ten businesses who are winners of TORCH Awards for exceptional ethical business practices and customer satisfaction from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Serving Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois. The awards committee, comprised of previous winners, looks at how the company benefits customers, employees and the larger community. Businesses are evaluated for their commitment to customer service through exceptional business standards for ethical business practices.
The two friends who run Lighting Service, President George B. Irwin CLMC and CFO Don Bachman, say their greatest asset is their workforce. The BBB Accredited Business insists on a safe, drug-free work environment, a fetish for customer service – and having fun.
The 63-year-old company, founded by Irwin’s father is a specialty contractor that sells and maintains lighting systems for customers throughout Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois. It focuses on providing energy efficient lighting and retrofitting facilities, including its own.
“The companies we honor are doing an outstanding job of serving customers in a very difficult economic environment,” said Richard Klassen, BBB Board Chairman and Chief Marketing Officer at Delta Dental of Missouri.
