Lighting Service, Inc. was founded in 1946, a time when fluorescent lighting was just being introduced and would soon require companies that could service this new technology. Though this industry was uncharted water, Lighting Service gained a reputation for offering outstanding customer service and technical expertise.
In 1995 George Irwin purchased the company with longtime friend and business associate, Don Bachman from the Irwin family. By maintaining the original model of offering excellent customer service and technical expertise Lighting Service has enjoyed continued success. In that time Lighting Service has expanded their list of services to include updated technology such as lighting controls, LEDs and energy management, among others.
Though the lighting industry has experienced a number of changes in the last 65 years, Lighting Service has stayed committed to continuing education, and staying ahead of the curve with new technology. Since 2007, George’s sons, Jeff & Greg have joined the company as well, making Lighting Service a 3rd generation family operated business.
